Home » Tutorials » CMS » Joomla. Create template. Override menu and search module template
In this tutorial we will continue to create simple template for our Joomla site. Today we will make menu and search templates
Menu and search are displayed on the site with corresponding modules – menu module and search module. All modules (build-in and installed) stored in the /modules directory. You shouldn’t edit these modules templates in this folder, because after some module or component, or joomla core update your code will flush. For overriding module template you need to create html folder, after in it you need folder with module name and then file template. But you also do all this steps through admin panel. You must go to Extensions->Templates->Templates. Then click to template parameters and click to the Create override tab. You will see list of modules, components and plugins. Search desired module or component, which template you want override.
For homework override template for breadcrumb module.
